South Carolina real estate developer, Greystar Real Estate Partners purchased two prominent north-end apartment buildings. Greystar paid $54.5 million for the Ray apartment build at 3636 Stone Way N. and $65.1 million for the Velo building at 3635 Woodland Park Ave. North.

The sale of the Velo building works out to $380,702 per unit, a record for apartments north of the ship canal. The Ray works out to a sale price of $386,525 per unit, according to Scott.

The high per-unit sale prices are evidence that apartment buildings outside the downtown and South Lake Union neighborhoods are increasing in value.
